How do I get a free RotaryCounter account ?
Nothing easier than this. There are three steps to do for including the RotaryCounter on your own webpage.
1. Fill out the forms carefully at this page.
2. Wait for an email with the HTML-Code inside.
3. Insert the HTML-Code in your own webpage.

I use Netscape Composer and the counter won't work.
If you are using the Netscape Composer as your HTML-Editor program to create your webpages you may have a problem with the RotaryCounter. The Netscape Composer is included in most of the Netscape Navigator or Communicator packages. If the RotaryCounter won't update the value although reloading your webpage, or if there is shown only an "empty" image where the RotaryCounter should appear you have to change a default-value within your Netscape Composer program.
To do so you have to take a look at Edit->Preferences->Composer->Publishing. There you have to uncheck the checkbox named "Keep images with page". Then you have to insert the RotaryCounter HTML-Code again und upload it again. The checkbox tells the Netscape-Composer not to use the image from your own site, but use the image from another site (in this case it is my site). .

Can I start the RotaryCounter with another value than 1 ?
You may start your RotaryCounter account at any value you want to. Please send an email to rotarycounter@ernst.hypermart.net with your account-name and the value the RotaryCounter should be set to. Generally within the next 48 hours your RotaryCounter will be set to this value.

Can I reset the RotaryCounter back to zero ?
You may reset your RotaryCounter to 0 at any time you want to. Please send an email to rotarycounter@ernst.hypermart.net with your account-name and your request to reset your counter. Generally within the next 48 hours your RotaryCounter will be reset to 0.

There is shown the wrong time at the statistics page.
If you take a look at your RotaryCounter statistics-page there might be shown the wrong time. Especially when you live in Europe or Asia, the time shown in the statistics doesn't match with your local time. But sorry, at the moment there is no way to solve the problem. The server creating the statistics is placed in the USA and the time shown in the statistics is the local USA time.

Is there a way to hide the statistics to the public ?
Sorry, but there is no way to hide the statistics to the public. The RotaryCounter is a free service - so you have to live with this fact. The only thing you may do if you do not want to link to your own statistics from your webpage is linking to the homepage from the RotaryCounter instead.

I use WebTV. Is it possible to include the RotaryCounter ?
I do not know for sure. Most of the WebTV users seems to have massive problems using the RotaryCounter. But a few of them have it running. So perhaps somebody having the RotaryCounter running on the WebTV system may send me an email and tell me the exact way to install it.

I have a question about the free RotaryCounter Perl-Script.
If you have downloaded the free RotaryCounter Perl-Script and have a question about that, please read the readme.txt file included in those package for further help. All the other FAQ's listed on this page do concern the free RotaryCounter account and not the Perl-Script.

I lost the HTML-Code to include in my website.
Maybe you lost the HTML-Code you received via email from the RotaryCounter. You need this code to include in your webpage. If you send an email to rotarycounter@ernst.hypermart.net the HTML-Code sended you once again via email. But do not forget to tell your account-name with your email, otherwise you may not receive the right HTML-Code.

What happens when the counter switches from 9999 to 10000 ?
Nothing serious happens to your RotaryCounter account when switching from 9999 to 10000. The only thing is when displaying 4 digits at the moment, you may want to display 5 digits of your RotaryCounter number in the future. To display 5 digits you have to change your HTML-Code included in your webpage. To receive the new HTML-Code please send an email to rotarycounter@ernst.hypermart.net with your account-name. Then the reversed HTML-Code is sended to you via email.

Why is the RotaryCounter a free service ?
The RotaryCounter is a free to use service. In reverse there are placed some advertisments on the entire RotaryCounter website. If you want to add your own adverts on the RotaryCounter website, please take a look at our advertiser's page. Or if you like the RotaryCounter service, you may include a special link to us. Simple sending an email to rotarycounter@ernst.hypermart.net will keep the webmaster motivated to run the RotaryCounter or create some other great free stuff for the web-society ;-)
